What We Do

COMPREHENSIVE LEGAL FRAMEWORKS

There is a great deal of attention in passing legislation at the federal level and there remain significant gaps in protections at the state and local level.  MyOwn Image develops, advocates for, and passes comprehensive legislation at the state and local levels to address technology-facilitated violence and abuse.  Our model policies are created in conjunction with criminal justice and first amendment advocates with the goal to account for the complexities and nuance of these issues.

SURVIVOR SUPPORT SERVICES

MyOwn Image supports victim-survivors through innovative, accessible, and comprehensive programs, including virtual support groups, one-on-one assistance, and connections to trusted partners and resources to ensure they receive the help they need.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & PUBLIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Cultural context and social norms have a direct impact on the way technology-facilitated violence and abuse are understood and affect our ability to prevent and respond to these crimes. MyOwn Image hosts educational webinars, engages with technology companies and platforms to push for improved transparency and user protection measures to combat online harassment and exploitation, as well as works with the media to ensure that they have essential information to help in their coverage.
